The 135th Boorowa Show was held last Saturday and deemed a huge success by attendees.
The calendar of events for the Show was action packed, with the Championship Dog Show, the Flock Ewe Competition, the Poultry Awards, the Pavilion exhibits, the shearing competition, the horse ring events and the alpaca judging all on show.
The feature entertainment for this year’s Show was the Outback Jack’s Stockman Show, with three viewing times to make sure everyone had the opportunity to view it at least once.
Boorowa Show Society Secretary Narelle Nixon said, “The 2025 Boorowa Show truly was a resounding success. Our patron numbers were similar to previous years, on what was a very hot day. A common feeling among the crowds were that our show was a friendly, wonderful day out - a truly community event.”
Narelle said despite the devastating hailstorm that hit the region recently, there were still plenty of exhibits in the Pavilion.
“The Pavilion displayed an outstanding collection of entries across all sections.
Patrons remarked about the attractive displays throughout , which is a testament to the exhibitors who spend hours preparing their entries and the chief stewards who put just as much time into presenting the entries so well.”
Narelle said there were record entries across the sports shear, yard dogs, alpacas, beef cattle and poultry.
The only downside was a drop in horse entries, but Narelle said there was an increase in carriage drivers.
“Sadly, our horse entries were down on previous years but there was a growing display of carriage drivers for their competition which is relatively new to our show, and those exhibitors made a stunning picture as they moved through their paces in the main arena.”
The winner of the 2025 Boorowa Show Flock Ewe Competition was Murray Dymock from Dymock Agricultural.
Coming in second was Dermot and Teena McGrath from Clear View.
Both these flocks will now compete at the ANZ Agribusiness & NSW Southern Tablelands Flock Ewe Competition Championship later in March.
The Show Society also farewelled outgoing President Louise Baer and welcomed incoming President Robert Styles Next year’s Show will be held on Saturday the 6th of March, 2026.
“We thank our wonderful sponsors, volunteers, exhibitors and visitors to our show and we hope to see you again next year,” said Narelle.
