One of the region’s iconic and anticipated events, the Boorowa Show, is being cancelled this year due to COVID restrictions.

The Show was to take place on March 5 and 6, 2021 at the Boorowa Showground. Boorowa Show Society President Louise Baer said cancelling was a hard choice for the group to make on Monday night, especially as they’d been given permission to host the event last year.

“To date, we had planned many aspects of our show in a short time frame, with modifications and new concepts to best manage the strict regulations with which we have to comply,” Mrs Baer said.

“Recruiting the large number of committed volunteers to comply with the COVID-safe planning, and concerns if any breach were to occur, became insurmountable for the committee,” Mrs Baer said.

The Show Society appreciates the generosity of supporters and event goers, especially during the last few weeks.

“These wonderful people have engaged with us on social media, paid sponsorships, booked commercial sites and encouraged others to enter their livestock, produce and goods. They are locals and people from fur-ther afield,” she said.

The Show’s ancillary events Commercial Cattle competition will be held on February 12 with Flock Ewe judging on February 19. The Championship Dog Show will be on March 5 also.

The general public are requested not to attend due to COVID restrictions.
