The weather was definitely playing nice for the kite flyers at this year’s Harden Kite Festival on Saturday, October 12.

Once again, the crowds were out to enjoy spectacular sights over Harden as professional kite flyers led the way.

In fact, the official opening of the Festival was followed by a vibrantly stunning and skillful display of kite flying.

The day was filled to the brim with something to keep everyone entertained, from rides, face painting, games, kite-making and circus acts for the kids to live community performances and market stalls to keep the adults happy.

There was a Black Dog Ride stand at the Festival this year, with volunteers doing their part starting conversations - their bikes didn’t go unnoticed, either.

Perhaps we’ll see them again next year.

Colour and movement was everywhere on Saturday, with circus stilt-walkers, bubble artists and Chinese dragons roaming around and engaging with the crowds.

Well organised events like this one are not possible without a lot of planning and elbow grease behind the scenes.

Thank you to the organising committee, sponsors and volunteers who made this year’s Harden Kite Festival such a success.
