Boorowa Community Landcare Group (BCLG) will host their July meeting of the Regen Grazing Group via the online platform Zoom.
Due to ongoing uncertainty over rules and regulations surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, the Group chose to meet online instead of face to face. The meeting will take place on Friday the 31st of July from 8am to 10am. To attend the Zoom session, email BCLG’s coordinator Linda at landcare@boorowa.net to receive an email link.
The group last met on May the 29th, with a small group of socially distanced graziers at a property just outside of Boorowa. The graziers were shown an example of a multi species cover crop and practiced some pasture assessment techniques in the paddock. The techniques were the STAC technique and Animal Days per hectare of available feed for the number of stock you have on hand.
Time management was discussed, with having a plan and practicing grass budgets to build confidence recommended outcomes. Doing some training was also recommended in order to improve skills in property management.
The Feral Fighters Fox Spring baiting program, a collaboration between BCLG and Local Land Services, is also underway with training taking place last week and baits being picked up this week. Baits were collected from various locations on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Baits are also being collected from various locations today, Thursday the 16th of July, including Reids Flat, Rugby and Frogmore.
