There’s a new quilting group in Boorowa, the Boorowa Christian Women’s Quilting Group. The Group is an initiative of the Boorowa Uniting Church, which has recently adopted the following mission statement: “In the community, with the community at heart”.

To this end the Group is involved in making lap sized quilts which this year will be donated to Burrowa House and the Boorowa Hospital.

The group is facilitated by two of the Uniting Church congregants, Karen Smith and Ruth Waddell, both of whom have many years’ experience in patchworking and quilting.

Karen hastens to say that there is no preaching involved in the Group. The whole idea is for women to come together to make new friends, meet quilters in the area, learn about patchwork and quilting, and make lap quilts for charity.

The first meeting of the Group is scheduled for Wednesday the 11th of May 2022 from 9:30am to 12:30pm at St John’s Anglican Church Hall.

The cost is $5 per week.

If you are interested in learning more, and/or wish to come along, please phone Karen on 0458 752 701.

It’s important to book your place ahead of time so that Karen and Ruth can make sure that tables are set out for you.
