The Boorowa Community Food Hub keeps attracting those in need of help and those willing to share out of their abundance.

For those that don’t know, the Boorowa Community Food Hub is situated on the corner of Brial and Park Streets, Boorowa.

The hub is open at all times, so people in need can take what they need when they need it and those wishing to donate nonperishable items can drop them off at any time.

The catchphrase for the hub is “Take what you need, Leave what you can”.

Recently, the hub caught the eye of a group of workers from outside Boorowa who were interested in what the hub was all about. In the end, they donated some biscuits and said they’d be back with more groceries.

If you are thinking of donating items to the hub, but aren’t quite sure what to leave, here are a few examples:

  • Tinned fruit;
  • Tinned vegetables;
  • Baked beans;
  • Cooking oil;
  • Rice;
  • Pasta;
  • Tea;
  • Coffee;
  • Sugar;
  • Peanut butter;
  • Jam;
  • Vegemite;
  • Biscuits;
  • Snacks for lunch boxes;
  • Breakfast cereals;
  • Long-life milk;
  • Bread;
  • Rice pudding;
  • Long-life custard;
  • Toiletries;
  • Nappies; and
  • Sanitary products.

Anything non-perishable is perfect.
