Boorowa Community Landcare Group’s (BCLG) AGM

The BCLG’s Annual General Meeting was held on the 3rd December, during which the following members were elected:

Chairperson - Paul Cavanagh
Vice Chairperson - Tom Reid
Secretary - Janine Hagar
Treasurer & Public Officer - Steve Bunnell
General Members - Linda Humphrey, Lance Graham, James Alexander, Gavin Hagar
Coordinator - Linda Cavanagh.

Outgoing committee members, Kathryn McGuirk, Heather McLeod, and Sharman Darnell were thanked for their invaluable contributions over the years.

Guest speaker at the meeting was Alison Elvin, who talked about resilient native grasses as a core part of any grazing system. She referred the following booklet that many of the graziers attending were interested in: “Managing Native Pastures for Agriculture and Conservation” by Langford, Simpson, Garden, Eddy, Keys, Rehwinkel, Johnston.

Alison also recommends people search ‘Evergraze’ research on-line – they have a wealth of practical information on grazing strategies to maximise native pastures and minimise input costs while still turning a tidy profit.
