Boorowa Gun Club Hosts Two-day Shoot In Honour Of Garry Martin
Boorowa Gun Club remembers long-standing member Garry Martin at the weekends annual two-day shoot.
Boorowa Gun Club will host its annual two-day shoot this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24.
Club member Ros Bradford said the annual shoot would be conducted in memory of a beloved long-standing member, Garry Martin who sadly passed away last year.
“Garry was an integral part of our club for 45 years, and his contributions have left a lasting impact on us all,” Ms Bradford said.
“We have a great program planned over the weekend with a delicious dinner prepared by Kosta Plessas on Saturday night - which is included in your nominations.”
“Garry was lobbied by members of the club in 1978 to become Secretary, which he did and held the club together for the next 45 years.”
“Garry was a very committed family man - being the type of bloke when he gave his word, he meant it.”
“He was very popular in the community, always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed.”
“Over the past 10 to 12 years he has helped carry out major upgrades to the Boorowa Gun Club and very rarely missed practice on a Tuesday night.”
“He is sadly missed by all members but his legacy will live on through the Club.”
Pre nominations accepted before 5 pm tomorrow, November 22 for the two-day shoot will go into the draw to win one of two slabs of AA Winchester ammunition.
Six events have been scheduled for the weekend, with the first being the Garry Martin Memorial 25T Handicap commencing at 10 am, with prizes:

- 2nd place, $1000;
- 3rd place, $500;
