Boorowa Gun Club recently hosted their monthly competition on a windy, blustery late Spring day. Despite the difficult shooting conditions, some good scores were posted.
The first event was a 50 Target Handicap event. The top two shooters tied on 46/50 and a shoot off was required to decide the winner and second place. The winner of the Handicap was Tony Barton with Jeff Nash coming second and Adam Reid in third place on 45/50.
Event 2, the 50 Target Double Barrel, was the next event, with the windy conditions continuing to cause trouble for many shooters. The overall winner was Tony Barton with the only 50/50 of the day.
First in AA was Jeff Nash 49/50 and second Wendy Barton on 48/50. A Grade first Giulio Serafin with a 47/50 and Darryl Reid second with a 45/50. Adam Reid won B Grade with a 45/50. Ian Crisp won C Grade with a 37/50 and second was Michelle Lees with a 35/50. A big congratulations to Michelle with her first podium finish.
High Gun for the day went to Tony Barton, Ladies High Gun Wendy Barton, Veterans High Gun Jeff Nash, and Junior High Gun Corey Lees.
Boorowa Gun Club’s next shoot will be held on the 23rd and 24th of November. This is the biggest shoot on the calendar. The event will be fully catered and camping is available both at the Club and at the Showgrounds just down the road.
