Boorowa Rotary’s Meet The Candidates Event A Huge Success

The Rotary Club of Boorowa hosted another very successful “Meet the Candidates” event on Wednesday night, September 11.

Candidates’ comments were fresh in voters’ minds as they headed to the polls on Saturday, September 14. Rotarian Lyn Diskon said it was great to see people from all over the Hilltops district (Young, Harden and the villages) who came to listen.

Emceed by a Rotarian, a crowd of around 100 people listened as 13 of the candidates introduced themselves and explained why they felt people should vote for them.

One candidate, who was unable to attend, sent a message which was read out to those gathered. This was followed by a question and answer session which lasted just over half an hour. Feedback received from those who attended included that the event was very informative and that they hoped to see such events repeated prior to any future election.
