Boorowa Shooters On The Podium At World Down The Line Ictsf Championship

The two Boorowa Gun Club members, Tracey Barton Stringer and Amy Smith, selected to represent Australia at the World Down the Line Clay Target Shooting Championship in England, have recently returned in high spirits.
The duo made up two-thirds of the three-person team chosen to represent Australia at the international championship event held at Bywell Shooting Grounds in England.
They proudly donned the green and gold and represented not only Australia, but their families, friends, the local Boorowa and wider community as well.
Tracey has represented Australia previously, but it was Amy’s first time donning the Australian representative cap.
The competition wrapped up at the end of July, with the Australian ladies bringing home the silver in the team event.
Tracey was also able to secure third place over all in the Ladies competition.
The level of local support for the two ladies, especially from businesses and individuals from the local areas of Boorowa, Young, Canberra and as far away as Sydney in the lead up to the championship was very pleasing, with many people coming on board to assist with fundraising to get the shooters there.
Both ladies’ efforts in attaining the highest level within their chosen sport serves as an inspiration to all in the DTL Shooting community.
All eyes are now turned to the Olympic events in France and the Boorowa Gun Club wishes the Aussie athletes all the best of luck.
