Boorowa Up For Landcare NSW Award
Boorowa Landcare, along with Yass and Hovells Creek as the South East sub region, is up for a Landcare NSW Award in the Climate Innovation category.
Excitement is high for the South East sub region of Yass, Boorowa and Hovells Creek who have been announced as a finalist in the Landcare NSW Awards in the Climate Innovation category.
The judging is complete, but winners will not be announced until June 3 at a special awards ceremony to be held at Sergeants Mess, Chowder Bay, Mossman.
Boorowa, Hovells Creek and Yass have showcased remarkable initiatives and achievements tackling climate change and fostering sustainable land management practices.
Through collaborative efforts and innovative approaches, they have made significant stries in raising awareness, implementing practical solutions and leveraging technology to mitigate the impacts of climate change while enhancing environmental resilience.
Landcare Awards categories include:
Australian Government Climate Innovation Award;
Australian Government Sustainable Agriculture Landcare Award;
Australian Government Individual Landcarer Award;
Australian Government Community Partnerships Landcare Award;
Coastcare Award;
First Nations Lanedcare Collaboration Award;
Women in Landcare Award;
Woolworths Junior Landcare Award; and
NextGen Landcare Award.
The Gerald Carnie Award is an additional award open to NSW Landcarers.
