The things you can do with what you would otherwise place in the rubbish bin are extraordinary.

Did you know that you can use your trash to create art? If you are 12 to 24 years old and living in the Hilltops, you can sign up for the free Waste to Art Creative Workshop at Boorowa Showground’s New Function Centre for Southern Tableland Arts. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, April 23 from 11 am to 3 pm.

All materials and tools will be provided, plus you can bring along any items from home to incorporate into your work. Lunch will also be provided on the day.

Waste to art has become a very popular form of creativity because not only can it be visually inspiring, it recycles what could otherwise go to landfill.

If you’re really keen on waste to art you could also enter your work in the Wollondilly Waste to Art Prize.

It would give you an opportunity to display your work at a region-wide exhibition and a chance at some of the $2600 in awards to be won. Register your spot at eventbrite.

The Waste to Art Creative Workshop was funded by NSW Government, Hilltops Council and Southern Tablelands Arts.
