Boorowa’s Australia Day Event

On Australia Day we celebrate all the things we love about Australia: sense of fair go, lifestyle, democracy, the freedoms we enjoy, but especially our people.
Australia Day is about acknowledging the contribution every Australian makes to country: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have been here for more than 65,000 years, those who have lived here for generations, and those who have recently come from all corners of the globe to call our country home.
The marking of the 26th of January is an important date in Australia’s history and has changed over time: starting as a celebration for emancipated convicts and evolving into what is now a celebration of Australia that reflects the nation’s diverse people.
Here in Boorowa, it’s all systems go for the 2023 Australia Day celebrations.
The celebrations start at 9:30am at the Boorowa Recreation Ground with the official ceremony and Australia Day Awards.
One group who will be there are Boorowa’s CWA group, which will be providing delicious Devonshire teas and refreshments for purchase. Please bring your change!
