Boorowa’s Christmas In July Was A Huge Success

Over 50 people attended Boorow’as wonderful Christmas in July luncheon as part of Young Meals on Wheels Meet and Eat events recently.

They had the opportunity to hear from guest speaker Andrea Kurta SSD CHSP Engagement Riverina Murray.

Young Meals on Wheels Service Coordinator, Janelle Eastlake said they heard from guest speaker Andrea Kurta, SSD CHSP Engagement Riverina Murray.

“Everyone was in wonderful spirits and we all enjoyed a wonderful meal and dessert at Boorowa Ex-Services Club,” Ms Eastlake said.

“We have many bookings already for the next luncheon in October.

“We had three raffle prizes kindly donated by businesses in Boorowa and Young and seven lucky door prizes, so lots of winners on the day.

“Everyone got involved in some interactive quizzes and we looked up the history of Christmas in July along with the ingredients of eggnog.”

The Spring Meet and Eat will take place on Tuesday, October 1 at 11:30 am for noon.

The set menu will be gluten free corned silverside with white sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables, followed by a brownie with tea or coffee.

Alternate dietary requirements can be made upon request, but any changes will incur a $5 surcharge because of the set menu, which is subsidised.

People are asked to RSVP by 1:50 pm on Tuesday, September 24 by phoning Young Community Transport on 6382 1518.
