Boorowa citizens were all a-buzz outside the Boorowa Courthouse on the 18th of December, in anticipation of the Boorowa Hilltops Spending Spree draw.
This was the third year the Boorowa Business Chamber has held this event, and a record 42 businesses in Boorowa participated.
As was the case in 2020, the Hilltops Council contributed funds to the cause, which allowed for advertising and the production of posters. The collection of tickets was enhanced through the kind donation of colourful backets by Karen Apps from the Ram and Stallion Hotel, Garrett Robinson and staff from the Boorowa Ex Services and Citizen’s Club, and Kim Blomfield from the Courthouse Hotel.
The winner of the 2021 Annual Hilltops Spending Spree in Boorowa, which totalled $4,200 was Anne Herrence from Rye Park.
There were also an additional 24 prizes awarded to shoppers, including:
• Boorowa Hotel/Top Pub dinner for two, won by Kirsten Anderson
• “World Famous Xmas Cake” from Walsh’s Country Kitchen, won by Julia Corcoran
• Tea and scones for two at the Courthouse Arts and Crafts, won by Roslyn Cummings
• A metre of garden soil from Boorowa Landscape Supplies, won by Bill Allen
• Car detailing kit from Penrose Motors Smash Repairs, won by M Gibbons
The winners all expressed gratitude and pleasure with their prizes.
The Spending Spree not only enhances the local economy but it generates excitement around town and across the Hilltops region. It’s a terrific initiative that is only going from strength to strength.
