Boorowa’s Shelterbox Off-The-Grid Sleepout Yields Results

With help from the community, family and friends, the Boorowa Rotarians who participated in the 2024 Rotary Shelterbox Off-the-Grid sleepout on Saturday night, September 7 raised over $5,900.

Participating Rotarian Lyn Diskon was thrilled with the result.

“We were joined by Rotarians from Yass, Canberra Sundown Rotary and Bateman’s Bay, and collectively, we raised over $12,000,” Ms Diskon said.

“That’s an amazing feat, particularly allowing the overall ShelterBox goal was $20,000 this year.”

“What a great group of people participated in the sleep-out at the Boorowa Showground.”

“There was much fun, laughter and (next morning) many aches and pains.”

“We will be doing it all again next year when it will be hosted by the Canberra Sundowners Rotary Club.”

“See if we can break this year’s record.”
