The deadline for the ‘Burrangong Gold’ Writing Competition 2022 has been extended to June 15, that means you have extra time to get your story in.
The competition is part of the Young Fellowship of Australian Writers’ 40-year celebrations.
Whether you are writing a memoir or family history or fictional story, all entries must reflect one or a combination of the following:
- Incidents and experiences in migration to Australia from the 1800s to 2000s;
- Any experience/s of life in, and travel to, any Australian goldfields;
- Any story based on/in the Burrangong Goldfields past to present.
Adults and students from Years 7 to 12 are welcome to submit entries of up to 2000 words, while students from Years 4 to 6 can submit works of between 700 to 800 words.
There is a cost of $5 per entry for adult submissions while students may enter free of charge, but they are limited to one entry only.
