Burrangong Picnic Races cancelled

The 2020 Burrangong Picnic Race Club (BPRC) Races have been cancelled.

The Committee made the difficult decision to cancel the races due to the strict crowd restrictions and social distancing requirements that currently apply to race meetings held in NSW due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Burrangong Picnic Race Club President Tom Wills said, “The Committee made the unanimous decision to cancel the races this year. It was on the back of restrictions placed on the event, that would take away from the vibe and fun get together that people attend the Burrangong Picnic Races for. We also thought that it was in the best interest of the community as the majority of events that bring large crowds together have also been cancelled.”

The Committee will now turn their attention to the events next year. “We look forward to our biannual fundraiser to be held in February/March 2021 as well as the races held in next October,” said President Tom Wills.

The Races were due to be held on Saturday the 10th of October.
