Candidates For Local Council Are In

Sixteen candidates will run for a place on the 11-person strong Hilltops Council on Saturday, September 24.

Local Government Elections are scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 14 and the candidates for the Hilltops region have been finalised.

Sixteen candidates will vie for the 11 seats on Council.

Those candidates are:

  • James Blackwell from Boorowa;
  • Jake Davis from Young;
  • Mary Dodd from Young;
  • Brandon Douglas from Young;
  • Fiona Douglas from Burrangong;
  • Patrick Fitzgerald from Young;
  • Tony Flanery from Boorowa;
  • Alison Foreman from Burrangong;
  • Michelle Gallo from Kingsvale;
  • Brian Ingram from Young;
  • Neil Langford from Young;
  • Joanne Mackay from Boorowa;
  • Michaell Skillen from Young;
  • Jennifer Smith from Harden;
  • Matthew Stadtmiller from Cunningar; and
  • Abdullah Sultan from Young.

Over the next couple of weeks leading up to the elections, The Hilltops Phoenix will attempt to touch base with each of the candidates for a little more information about them and their plans for the region.

Murrumburrah Rotary will host a “Meet the Candidate” night on Tuesday, September 10 at the Harden Country Club function room beginning at 6 pm.

Everyone is welcome and there is no cost associated with the event.

Each candidate will have two minutes to speak and then there will be a question and answer session at the end of event.

People can direct their questions to whichever candidate they wish and can remain after the event for some dinner, if they choose.
