Cherry Festival Photographic Exhibition Open

On Sunday, November 27, the Cherry Festival Photographic Exhibition was officially opened at the Young Services Club.

Young Camera Club would like to thank Martin Lang for judging the competition and presenting awards at the opening.

Bob Green from Nowra won the Will Sibley Memorial Award for Champion Print, with his photograph titled Bombo Quarry.

Young’s own Ronald Jarvis won the Helen Berridge Memorial Award for the Junior Champion Print, with his photo titled Mountain Stream.

The inaugural John van Rijswijk Encouragement Award went to a junior entrant, Liam Howard for his photograph, Gathering.

Congratulations go to everyone awarded first, second, highly commended and commended across the 12 categories.

Thanks also go to all photographers who entered the competition. Entries came from Young and surrounding areas, Sydney, Nowra, across the State, the ACT and abroad.

The exhibition will remain open at the Young Services Club until Sunday, December 4.

Opening hours are 10am to 4pm daily, except for Sunday when it closes at 2pm.

You can still vote for your favourite photo, with votes tallied for The People’s Choice Award, so make sure you visit and walk through the 277 photographs on display.
