Do you have the patience, kindness and understanding to foster a pet? Paws for More Young is looking for foster carers for a variety of animals, but right now the highest need is for kittens and cats.

Experience with cats is preferred, as they need to learn to trust humans.

Paws for More is a not-for-profit organisation that receives no government funding and only asks for donations in dire circumstances or when they need to help foster carers.

When it comes to fostering cats and kittens, they need food, litter, toys and bedding, as well as a loving, attention-oriented home where they can flourish and be brought out of their shells and overcome their fear of people.

Pet foster carers are asked simply to care for the animals as if they were their own, but with the intention of having it adopted out when it is ready.

Of course, foster carers have the option of adopting as well.

Potential adopters are carefully screened and all felines go to indoor-only homes.

Vet work is done, especially desexing, which is seen as the biggest problem to the rescue work the organisation does.

All medical bills, aside from flea and worm treatments, are paid for by Paws for More, that is why they authorise their foster carers to seek medical attention from their usual vet in an emergency and contact them afterwards.

All other non-urgent concerns should be brought to their attention immediately.

The past few months have been extremely busy for the organisation with an overwhelming number of animals needing assistance, leaving them filled to capacity and unable to help as many as they would like.

They are in desperate need of more foster carers to help continue the work.

If you can help care for pets in need, contact Paws for More through their Facebook page.
