Renewable energy developer and operator, CWP Renewables has put the call out to community groups and charities to apply for sponsorship in a special Christmas round of support with a total pool of $30,000 to be shared across the regions in support of Christmas initiatives.

CWP Renewables Head of Development, Ed Mounsey said with the challenges and impacts of COVID-19 in recent times, there was a desire to ensure local community groups had additional support.

“If we can make it a little easier for the community organisations that do such a great job of providing support for those in need at Christmas, we’d like to hear from you,” Mr Mounsey said.

“Whilst we offer community sponsorships all year round in the areas in which our projects are located, we wanted to provide additional support during the Christmas period.”

“Last year, our Sapphire Wind Farm near Glen Innes provided funding for a local Christmas toy drive.”

“We want to spread the Christmas cheer across all the regions we have a presence in.”

“For Bango Wind Farm, which is under construction, applications will be considered from organisations which operate or service the Yass Valley Council and Hilltops Council areas.”

CWA Renewables has a 4 GW portfolio of renewable energy projects in operation, construction and development across NSW and provides community sponsorship for a range of key areas.

That is in addition to community benefit or enhancement funds which are set up to provide annual funding for community initiatives for the life of the project.

Interested charities and community groups within the local government areas of CWP Renewables projects are invited to make their request for sponsorship by Friday, November 12.

Applications can be submitted on the CWP Renewables website.
