Don’t Hibernate, Keep Busy This Winter
Meals on Wheels hosts monthly Meet and Eat events.
Don’t let the cold weather keep you indoors and isolated this winter. Put on your winter woollies and be a part of what is going on in Boorowa.
Meals on Wheels and Community Transport have some great events planned to keep you busy.
There has already been a great response to their Christmas in July event for Boorowa and there is still time to RSVP.
You can enjoy mixed games and morning tea weekly on Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 noon, except for the third week because Meals on Wheels hosts the monthly Meet and Eat luncheons. A light morning tea is provided, so RSVP for catering to 6382 5008. They meet at 133 Main Street, Young and ask for a gold coin donation. Transport is available, just call 6382 1518.
Back to that third Wednesday of the month - why not join the fun on Wednesday, June 19 at Young Services Club at 11:30 am for 12 noon.
It costs $15 per person for a subsidised set menu of beef stew with mashed potato, sauteed greens and chocolate cake and icecream, with tea and coffee. The main meal can be altered for dietary needs. The options include battered fish or chicken schnitzel and will incur a $5 surcharge.
RSVP to Young Community Transport by 2 pm on Friday, June 14 at 6382 1518. There is also a Hilltops Local Sight with Guided Tour and Lunch, RSVP by June 21 and Xmas in July Boorowa, RSVP by June 25.
A special men’s group event has been organised as well, with RSVP by August 1. Details about the last three events will be expanded on next week.
