Entries Close Soon For Cherry Festival Photographic Competition
2022 Champion Print by Bob Green
Time is running out to get your entry in for the Young Camera Club’s 25th Cherry Festival Photographic Competition and Exhibition.
That’s right, entries are due by Friday, October 20 - two weeks away, so get a hustle on.
With 13 categories to choose from, the competition has something for everyone, including junior shutterbugs.
Collect entry forms from the Young Visitor Information Centre or on the Young Camera Club Facebook page.
As usual, prizes will be awarded, with trophies going to the Champion Print, Junior Champion Print and Junior Encouragement Print.
The official opening of the resulting exhibition will take place on Sunday, November 26 at the Young Services Club, continuing until Sunday, December 3.
Take this opportunity to be part of this milestone 25th annual exhibition by entering one of your photos in the competition and visiting the exhibition.
In other news - Young Camera Club was excited to win second place in the annual Western Districts Association of Camera Clubs (WDACC).
It was a closely run race, though. They were just three points behind the winners, Narromine Camera Club.
Each year, one of the member clubs of WDACC hosts the event and this year’s host was Cudgegong Camera Club.
Other member clubs that competed in this year’s competition were Orange, Bathurst, Parkes and Narrandera.
Other member clubs include Harden, Murrumburrah, Dubbo, Mudgee, Goulburn, Grenfell and Hay.
Competition pieces were submitted in June, with results announced in September.
Young Camera Club encourages fun, friendship and learning, and welcomes interested people to join them.
The club’s monthly October competition results were:
Landscape - Lyn Keating (1st, C), Fiona Doupland (2nd), Leonie Martin (HC); and
Open - Liam Howard (1st), Lyn Keating (2nd), Jenny Ball (HC).
Young Camera Club will meet next on Wednesday, October 11. Contact Trevor on 0414 649 500 for any queries you may have.
