Paintings arrived on Tuesday, October 14 and were hung ready for tomorrow’s official opening of the 30th annual Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council’s Festival of Arts at the Old Courthouse on Albury Street, Murrumburrah.

The opening night, which commences at 7 pm, costs $5 per person and includes supper.

Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council’s Treasurer Jane Martin has organised this year’s event.

“The Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council’s Festival of Arts was started 30 years ago by three ladies,” Ms Martin said.

“The main lady was the late Connie McFadyen and she had two helpers, one being La Reine Beal, who is missing the opening night for the first time this year.”

“She is 94 and ill in hospital.”

“We have made a little tribute with some of her beautiful paintings so that she could be present in spirit.”

The third founding lady was Margaret Ryan.

Together this trio created the Festival of Arts, a diverse display well worth the viewing.

Stewart Bruce will entertain the crowd for the hour preceding the presentations.

The exhibition will continue on Saturday, October 19, Sunday, October 20, Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27.
