Boorowa Rotarians, Alan and Sina Banks attended the farewell luncheon for the Rotary Club of Grenfell at the Grenfell Bowling Club on February 22.
After 75 years of service to the community, chartered on August 23, 1947, the Rotary Club of Grenfell has folded.
The last resigning president, Robert Baldwin expressed his sadness and said that they simply could not attract new members.
A precis of a talk ‘Early Memories of Rotary in Grenfell’ given by Nevin Moffitt in 1985 (one of the founding members) was read out giving some history to the foundation of the club.
Community members and organisations such as Meals on Wheels expressed their gratitude for the hard work and many hours Rotarians put into service for the community of Grenfell and its surrounds.
Other neighbouring clubs attended, including Cowra, Young and Forbes and Alan and Sina Banks for RC Boorowa.
Members of Rotary Club Boorowa made many travels to Grenfell for Changeovers, International nights and guest speaker nights.
