Have you ever wondered about where you came from, where your family came from?

The Crowe family need not wonder anymore thanks to 50 years of research undertaken by Father Allen Crowe, who will launch his resulting book titled, Fairview, Murringo (Marengo) Flats NSW The History of the Ancestral Land of the Crowe Family on Saturday, April 15.

Everyone will meet for the book launch at the Murringo Cemetery at 10:45 am for an 11 am start because most of the first generation of Crowes is buried there.

He has compiled a genealogy of the Murringo Crowes from their place of origin in Ireland.

“Michael and Sarah Crowe settled at Marengo Flats in 1864,” Fr Allen said.

“Basically, it’s their story. They had 14 children, 12 of whom married and had children.”

“They had 117 grandchildren from the 12 that married.”

The book includes a short profile of that family, down to the 117 grandchildren.

Father Crowe has done an amazing amount of research spanning the past 50 years to produce his book in an easy-to-ready style with plenty of photographs.

Therese Crowe of Murringo Barracks said it was a must for every Crowe family member’s bookcase.

Following the official book launch at the cemetery, people are invited back to Murringo Barracks for a light lunch and to take a walk around the exhibition of Crowe family photos and memorabilia in the Murringo Barracks Art Gallery.

Bookings are essential for catering purposes, so please email murringobarracks@gmail.com to confirm your attendance.
