From Hilltops Council – Alison Foreman

I would like to start my first column by saying thank you to the voters of Hilltops for their overwhelming support and to my fellow Councillors for giving me the honour of being Deputy Mayor of Hilltops.

We are commencing a new phase for the residents of Hilltops, which is very exciting, as this is a great opportunity to be a whole community all under the Hilltops banner.

The towns and villages in our region are abundant with agriculture, beautiful places to visit, quality regional food and vibrant centres.

For us to prosper, I encourage you to support a Hilltops business by shopping locally, joining a committee or by volunteering, as these efforts will help us achieve sustainable growth.

During my recent campaigning, the one thing that stood out the most was our community spirit. I was humbled by the kindness, generosity and the love we all feel for our region, the place we all call home.

With a new Hilltops Council, I ask everyone to look at the positives as there are many, look towards the future as it is bright, and if you want to know the facts just ask.
