After months of collecting original recipes and following the history of Boorowa CWA, the group’s Centennial Cookbook has been printed and is available for purchase.

Boorowa CWA Co-President, Karen Smith said they wanted to create something that paid their deepest respect to the women who established the Boorowa Branch of the CWA and the contribution the organisation had made to Boorowa over the last 100 years.

“The cookbook is organised in decades and talks about the women who were in the leadership team at that time,” Ms Smith said.

“It also records the achievements of the decade, and the challenges faced by members.”

“Our thanks also go to members of the community for sharing information and recipes with us, in particular, Alma Corkhill, for sharing a recipe and a story about her mother, Evelyn Gorham; Steve Oxley, for sharing recipes from his grandmother, Mrs Linda Venessa Oxley; and Phoebe Stuart for her recipes.”

“The cookbook costs $18 and can be purchased from the Boorowa Arts and Crafts Co-op in the Old Boorowa Courthouse.”

“The first official presentation of the cookbook takes place on November 25 during Boorowa CWA Fun in the Park 100th Anniversary Celebration.”

Fun in the Park will take place at Recreation Ground and promises fun for all ages and skill levels.

More information about the event will follow in coming weeks.
