Goonigal Poll Dorsets Stud will hold their annual ram sale after a grueling 12 months preparing for it.
Preparation included establishing the rams and making sure they were at top quality for their clients to ensure the Stud maintained its shining reputation.
Maureen and Robbie Lawrence, farmers their whole lives, purchased the already established Goonigal Poll Dorsets Stud in 2006, and over the intervening years have transformed it into the major farming operation it is today.
They were joined by one of their sons, Charles, and his wife completing the family owned business.
The Stud enjoys fantastic feedback from their clients regarding the quality of lambs the stud rams produce.
These lambs go on to make impeccable export or sucker lambs, that are typically sold at 14 to 16 weeks, weighing 24kg.
The family noted that the dip in the lamb market may affect the overall prices, but they hope they will receive what the rams are valued at, leaving them with an impressive outcome.
All rams that will be present on the day have been vet checked and have been brucellosis accredited.
The stud has also confirmed that the livestock is free of foot rot.
Stock scan figures will be available on the Goonigal Poll Dorsets Stud Facebook on Monday, September 4 or by emailing a request to goonigal@bigpond.net.au.
The rams will be penned up by 11:30 am to be ready for inspection. The Stud welcomes everybody to come along, look their livestock over and have a bid.
