Following the success of last year’s inaugural Harden Art Prize exhibition, which attracted around 120 entries, opening hours this year have been extended.

The $10,000 acquisitive prize, which attracts artists from across Australia, will be open to the public over two weekends this year. Showcasing the winner and other finalists, the exhibition will be open in the Old Courthouse Murrumburrah from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30 and again on Saturday and Sunday, May 6 and 7.

Entry to the exhibition remains free.

The prize was set up with the backing of dual sponsors Bendigo Community Bank Harden-Murrumburrah and the Kruger Trust with the intent of promoting the twin towns to the arts community of Australia and encouraging visitors and the local Hilltops residents to view the annual exhibition of art works.

Melbourne artist Domenyk Eades won the 2022 prize with a work titled Rain-soaked Outcrop. Last year’s exhibition attracted hundreds of visitors from Canberra, Wagga Wagga and surrounding towns from across the region. Full details can be found at hardenartrprize.org.
