Harden Community Christmas Carols
After a fantastic community night of carols and Christmas cheer, everyone is already looking forward to next year’s Harden Murrumburrah Community Carols.
Christmas cheer was the order of the day on Sunday, December 15 on Trinity Catholic School grounds.
Event organiser and Principal of Trinity Catholic School, Carolyn Perryman said the event was great, with many words of gratitude spoken as people left.
“Unfortunately, the fire brigade were unable to come as they were called out on a job,” Ms Perryman said.
“So, Santa came for a drive in the Principal’s car.”
There was a good turnout on the night, with similar numbers to last year.
“It was fabulous to see the Community Bus bring a bus full of the elderly in our community,” Ms Perryman said.
“As people were leaving, they said, “See you next year,” so it’s becoming part of the Christmas culture of Harden Murrumburrah, so that is great. The community involvement is growing.”
“The Men’s Shed made a Santa chair, Keith Ward dressed up as Santa, Hooked on Coffee sold slushies, Rotary donated some books for prizes, and Bunyip made lollies from Santa.”
“I’d love to get Murrumburrah behind it.”
Ms Perryman said they would be looking to get some sponsorship next year, so they can put a bit of money toward decorating and prizes for the event.
