Spot of tea, anyone? The Country Women’s Association (CWA) has been cooking scones and serving up Devonshire teas for a century, so you can be sure they’ve mastered the art.

The ladies host Friendly Fridays once a month at the Association’s Co-op Shop which is open on Fridays and Saturdays.

That means that on the first Friday of the month, between 10 am and 12 noon, visitors can drop in for a complimentary Devonshire tea, with a cup of tea or coffee.

Association members hope to attract more women to go along and discover what the CWA is all about and perhaps join their ranks.

The Co-op Shop is generally stocked with lovely treats to buy, with custard tarts, lemon meringue pies, homemade soups, homemade jams and chutneys, cakes and a large variety of slices, with gluten-free options also available.

A range of warm beanies, scarves and blankets are also available to purchase.

While the Co-op Shop will remain open from 9 am to 1 pm, Friendly Friday will be open from 10 am to 12 noon.

You can find them at the CWA Hall on the corner of Neill and Stair Streets.
