Gilmour on Fire Last Week

With the course an absolute eye candy treat and the greens rolling at ridiculous warp speed, only one Man stood a chance last week. That Man would only be the Green’s Superintendent.

Chad Gilmour hits the ball a country mile, putts without fear and no doubt from his time spent rolling golf balls when choosing pin positions, he already has it figured out before he gets on course. Despite this, Chad was the only person on course to play to his handicap or better – a factor that most are not taking on board of late. Playing to your handicap (even if it is a tad super sized like Chad’s), will get you the lollies most weeks at present.

Chad also knocked a ball to about 30cm on the 10th it was noted for the Bendigo Bank Hole in one nearest the pin. Did not get the cold hard green gorilla but a great shot nonetheless.

Chad took the Club Voucher and shop credit to his Club card this week, with 36 stableford points or a par to handicap round. Runner Up and leading the Refreshment Voucher run was Kevin Hoppe with 33 points, whilst a chuffed Ev Shea (32 points), Craig Filmer (32 points) and Matt paisley (31 points) rounded out the drinks. The field average stableford score was 30.7 thereby signalling a tough day out.

This Week

Our June Monthly Medal is set for this Saturday so a stroke medley individual round with A Grade, B Grade Medals & Scratch, Guzzlers Mug and also the closing round of the Dempster Cup Semi Finals. If your match has not been scheduled yet, it needs to be done and dusted this weekend or an approach made to the Committee about extenuating circumstances.

The tee sheet is available on Golf Genius for this weekend so set your times and partners relative to those still in the Dempster.
