Parker & Glover are Club Foursomes Champions

With the course playing fantastic, the greens electric and the conditions perfect, what else would you rather be doing than playing the hardest format Golf has to offer ? The Club Championships were played in an open format of all members and this event works on a Your Hit – My Hit format to conclusion each hole, for 27 holes.

The word “sorry” is forbidden and each pairing no doubt put their playing partner in positions of the course they most likely have never seen. Such is the mystique and wonder that we all love about Foursomes.

Too strong on the day and by a country mile no less, were the newly formed pairing of Mark Parker and Simon Glover. In gaining their Championship win, the boys have shot a very handy +10 (117) over 27 holes (par = 107), +8 for the course proper (par 71) and +2 (par 36) on their second go at the front 9. Whilst grumbling that they left too many out there after their round, their score was 10 shots better than the next in the field. Great win guys !

Runners Up on the day, went to the Club Champion and the B Grade Champion – Ben Glover & Harry Sachs with +20 (or 127 off the stick) for 27 holes. Brett Johnson and Nathan Schofield were only 2 shots further adrift.

In the Handicap/Nett Division, whilst the Scratch Champions did record the best net also, the title goes to the next pairing Nathan Schofield & Brett Johnson who were a mere 4 shots off their handicap. Next in line were David James and David Solah who were + 8 on their handicap. An interesting stat, the average of the pairs in the field was +12 on their handicaps for the day. It’s a tough format on the course at its peak presently so well done on battling through everybody.

Harden Ladies Tournament 2022

Whilst the scribe does not have all of the event results to hand, I am reliably informed that our own Club Champion. Jeanette Elliott has won the Open Tournament held last Sunday. Cheryl Minehan has picked up the Division 2 prize, from Young Club via Demondrille.

I hear likewise the course played tough and the golf was gritty to eek out the scores recorded/
