A good sized field faced the starter last Saturday for the April 2022 Monthly Medal with some great scores on offer and a lovely temperate day out on the links. The markers were back and the course played its full distance, so the results obtained were a true value result for good golf.

Winner of the Daily Event and the B Grade Medal by a comfortable margin, and shooting 6 shots below his handicap for a magnificent 65 nett was Brody Schofield. Brody picked up the king sized Club Voucher for his endeavours. Great result for this up and coming keen young golfer. Our A Grade Medallist was a case of welcome back Cotter. Nathan Hawk-Eye Hawkins decided to put in a good day out, shooting a 69 nett for the Runner Up Voucher, sneaking past Peter Elliott and Jeanette Elliott in a countback.

Our Scratch result for A Grade showed that the course is quite gettable with solid play, Ben Glover shooting a par Round of 71 off the stick to claim a refreshment voucher. Ben was also heard to remark that if only he was straighter with his drives, who knows what score may have been on offer. Our B Grade Scratch winner this week was Tam Kennedy with an 87, also claiming a refreshment voucher.

Prizes in the ball comp went back to 73 nett and were awarded to Ron Page (69), Peter Elliott (69), Jeanette Elliott (69), Craig Filmer (70), Brett Johnson (73) and Simon Glover (73). These were all rewarded with Refreshment Vouchers claimable at the Bar.

This Week

This Saturday sees the return of the Volkswagen Scramble. This popular 4 person Ambrose event starts at your local Club level, where usually the winning group qualifies to a state event, before winners at that level then qualify to play with Professionals at a hosted National Event on a Championship Course. This Saturday is the Harden Qualifying event. Nominations are all being conducted through Golf Genius with the link on the Club’s web and Facebook pages. Grab 3 mates, sign up and see you on Saturday for a 9am shotgun start.

Pepe’s Duck Run

Do not forget the value on offer with this event. For $8 you get to play the front 9, enjoy a refreshment voucher after your round included in the deal, and be in the running after the fun for a quality Pepe’s Duck. Awesome value and lots of fun.
