Hoppe Bolts Back to Form
On a cold and bitter winter’s day, a solid field still turned out to contest the June 2022 Monthly Medal. As well, a number of Dempster Cup Matches were completed in conjunction, now leaving us down to 4 contenders for the semi finals.
Again, only 1 person could play to their handicap or better, with the course still baring its teeth and couple with less than ideal golfing weather. That man was Kevin Hoppe, who played rock solid with bang on his handicap of 5 for a 76/71. This earnt Kevin the A Grade Medal, the A Grade Scratch, the day’s event voucher and also the prized Guzzler’s Mug for the month. Kevin’s 76 in those conditions was probably worth a few shots less had it been ideal weather, so great golfing Kev.
Our B Grade Medallist and another sterling effort in the conditions was Ashley Hall. Ash has shot 1 worse than his handicap for a 92 nett 72. Our B Grade Scratch went to Herb Mnwaring, just sneaking past Mr Hall with a 91 on his way to cruise past the hapless Craig Filmer in their Dempster Cup Match.
Balls on the day went to Maurice Manwaring (73 nett), Matt Peisley (73 nett), Simon Glover (74 nett), Michael Baldry (75 nett) and Ron Page (76 nett).
Eclectic Update
Our year long Eclectic is progressing nicely with some surprise names in the box seats presently. Remember that only scores on scheduled Individual Event days are spilling into your eclectic. Do not waste Birdies and Eagles on 4BBB days. The leaders presently are;
Chad Gilmour - 21
David Solah - 20
Chris Whybrow - 20
Craig Filmer - 19
Maurice Manwaring - 18
Dempster Cup
As stated we are now down to semi’s. In match reports to hand on the Quarter finals I am advised that Peter Elliott fought from 4 down to claim Graeme Taylor on the 19th, Tam Kennedy fought hard to just go down to Simon Glover 2 down, Maurice Manwaring fought from 2 down to beat Craig Filmer 3 and 2, and Jeanette Elliott accounted for Asley Hall 2 up.
The semi finals will be Jeanette Elliot vs Simon Glover and Peter Elliott vs Maurice Manwaring. These matches are to be done by mid July please.
This Week
This Saturday will see a Long Weekend single stableford medley on Saturday whilst Monday would be rollup at lunch time and see who is up for some skins.
