United Hospital Auxiliary Harden recently purchased two pieces of equipment for the local hospital:

  • An ultrasound bladder scanner; and
  • A Lucas chest compression machine.

The two items cost almost $40,000 and will be used in the Harden Emergency Department.

At the moment, Auxiliary members are fundraising in general, with no major goals in mind.

They liaise regularly with the Hospital Facility Manager, Steve Evans, who updates the group with items from a “wish list”.

Mr Evans also provides the Auxiliary with quotes for their approval.

Harden Hospital Auxiliary also regularly delivers items to residents of the hospital nursing home, such as clothing, personal care items, magazines and personalised gifts for Christmas.

The Harden Hospital Auxiliary’s monthly meeting will take place this morning, Thursday, October 3 commencing at 10:30 am.

The meeting costs $10 per person, with morning tea included prior to an address from special guest speaker Olwen Smith on Riding for the Disabled.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
