Harden Kite Festival Action Continues

October is fast approaching which means all the excitement of the Harden Kite Festival is almost here.
Stallholders have just one week left to visit https://forms.office.com/r/Xw1eSPZKG3 and finalise their applications to participate at the Festival.
Harden Kite Festival attracts professional kite flyers each year, and they just love to share their kite-flying knowledge with the kids.
Michael Richards is one of those professionals, and he hosts great workshops with kids to create interesting kites.
He travels to rural parts of Australia attending community events such as our annual Harden Kite Festival, and he is a member of the Australian Kiteflyer’s Society.
He has owned and operated Kite Magic, running a kite program for primary schools with his Tyvek diamond kite.
Mr Richards has developed great kite-building and designing skills over the years.
Kite school workshops will be offered to all of the primary schools in the Hilltops region as well as those in neighbouring Local Government Areas.
Every primary school student at Cootamundra Special School, Murringo Public School, Murrumburrah Public School and Trinity Catholic College will have had the opportunity to create and fly a kite.
They can then bring their kites along with them to the Festival on Saturday, October 7 and fly them to their hearts content.
This activity is supported by Harden Murrumburrah Community Bendigo Bank.
A new colouring competition will be out next month, with fun prizes up for grabs.
First and second prizes will be awarded in each age category:
- First Prize - All-Day rides pass and kite; and
- Second Prize - All Day rides pass.
Hilltops local businesses are encouraged to enter the Hilltops Local Business Kite Display Competition by sending a photo of their business with a kite-themed window display during September to win a prize.
Why not get involved in all the fun in the lead up to this year’s Harden Kite Festival on Saturday, October 7 from 10 am to 4 pm?
