Harden Murrumburrah Markets Return For Round Two
There’s nothing like strolling through the community markets, snagging some delicious local produce and picking up a hidden gem or two.
The second monthly Harden Murrumburrah Market day is nearly upon us - the third Sunday of the month, June 16 from 9 am to 1 pm at the Old Tennis Courts and Community Gardens, Harden.
Last month’s inaugural market day was hailed a huge success by the more than 30 market stallholders who offered a wide range of items for sale.
There was everything from fresh produce, including fruit and vegetables, home-made pickles, relishes and gluten-free bread through to garden ornaments, candles, cards, quilts, dog coats and jewellery.
If you have a hankering to have a stall and showcase some of your own creations or home-grown delicacies, there is still time to register. Just email hardenmurrumburrahmarkets@gmail.com for the form and details.
Along with the various stalls, coffee, food, music and art, there will be a children’s play area to keep the kids entertained.
While you are out and about enjoying the Harden-Murrumburrah community, take the opportunity to wander through the Rotary Community Gardens and pop into the Harden Library, which is open between 10 am and 12 noon on market days.
Grab yourself a hot coffee or tea with a delicious scone or barbecue and just enjoy the atmosphere.
The markets are a joint initiative of Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council and Murrumburrah Harden Rotary Club.
Market co-ordinators Yvonne Whitechurch and Nicole Scott are keen to add to future market success by hearing from talented makers as well as buskers who would like to be part of future events.
