The Harden Murrumburrah Markets are driven by the Harden Murrumburrah Regional Development Corporation in an effort to showcase all the goodness that the twin towns have to offer.

A small organising committee of four or five key people supported by a wider selection of the community have been working together to create an event that has something for everyone.

Member of the organising crew, Antonia said everyone had a lovely day at the inaugural markets in April.

“We had homemade relishes and a good range of face painting, jewellery, honey, native plants, signs, canvas signs, knitting stuff, plasma garden art, lavender from the local lavender people, homemade clothing and stuff,” Antonia said.

“We are holding the markets every second month, on the third Sunday of the month.”

Antonia said that the markets would include local art displays at the children’s play area, a delicious high tea catered by the Harden Hospital Auxiliary and the ever popular barbecue and coffee.

The main reason behind the markets is to create an event that gets people out, enjoying each other’s company and everything the community has to offer.

Much of what is on offer is free, so it is the ideal event for those people that don’t have a lot of money to spend, or families with multiple children.

You can get out and make new friends, reconnect with old friends, and check out the community garden next door.

The venue is a good, flat area that allows easy access for people with disabilities or mobility issues.

Get out this weekend and take in all the Harden Murrumburrah Markets have to offer on Sunday, June 16.

This year’s markets are scheduled for August 18, October 20 and a Christmas market on December 15.

Prospective stallholders are invited to call 0247 862 173 for information or email hardenmurrumburrahmarkets@gmail.com.
