Harden Murrumburrah Residents Spend Local For Christmas
Martos Electrical won first prize in the Business section of the Harden Murrumburrah Christmas Lights Display competition.
Santa’s helpers judged the Harden Murrumburrah Christmas Lights Display competition for 2024.
Member of Harden Murrumburrah Regional Development Corporation (HRDC) Antonia Brown said they had a difficult job with 24 homes and four business entries.
“The lights were absolutely stunning,” Ms Brown said.
“The dedication and creativity shown by everyone is outstanding.”
“Regardless if you won or not it’s great to see so many light displays.”
“It’s wonderful to see such enthusiasm and community spirit, with so many people illuminating their homes and businesses and sharing their locations so that everyone can enjoy the festive displays.”
There is still time before Christmas to get out and take a look at the marvellous displays bringing joy to the local community.
Winners of the Lights competition include:
Residential:
- First - Beth Allen, 1 Derby Street;
- Second - Stevi-Jean Pearsall, 33 Albury Street; and
- Third - Josh Menz, 207 Neill Street.
Business:
- First - Marto’s Electrical, 233 Albury Street;
- Second - Flemings Property Services, 54 Neill Street; and
- Third - The Ohana Collection, 58 Neill Street.
The Harden Murrumburrah Christmas Spending Spree was drawn by Santa at the Christmas Carols at Trinity Primary School on Sunday evening, December 15.
Ms Brown said they were thrilled to announce and congratulate the winners.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and supported this event,” Ms Brown said.
“In today’s digital age, it’s easy to shop online, but choosing to shop locally ensures the vitality of our local businesses.”
“This year, your local purchases made a significant impact.”

The winners of the Harden Murrumburrah Christmas Spending Spree were announced at the Community Christmas Carols at Trinity Primary School on Sunday, December 15.
Winners were:
- First place, Scott Kinney - $1000;
- Second place, Marg Whybrow - $600;
- Third place, Robyn Hutchinson - $400;
- Fourth place, Krista Hooke - $300;
- Fifth place, Gemma Gash - $200; and
- Sixth place, Steph Ellis - $100.
The winning tickets came from Supabarn, Ziems Butchery, Harden Country Club, DJs on Neill and The Mane By Kylie.
