“And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended, And at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars.” (From A. B. Banjo Patterson’s “Clancy of the Overflow”)

To see these visions splendid, hop in the car and drive through Hilltops and admire vibrant golden canola, green wheat fields, and blossoming cherry trees.

We particularly recommend driving down the Lachlan Valley Way to Boorowa, and then on the Cunningar Road to Harden-Murrumburrah. Drive out through Harden on Albury Street and turn right past the cemetery onto the Wombat Road to make your way to Young. From Young you can drive through picturesque Murringo before making your way back to Boorowa.

The country roads between Young, Boorowa and Harden-Murrumburrah provide some great spots to capture the incredible scenery on offer across the region. Slow down, take the road less traveled and enjoy the beauty of this natural show.

Please remember that safety is paramount. Be careful when stopping to take photos as a lot of the roads are highways, with large trucks and other vehicles traveling at 100 kph. Only pull over if it is safe to do so remaining aware of your surroundings including other traffic at all times.
