Are you an equestrian that likes to hit the trails for a ride on the weekend? Perhaps you’d like to be able to lead a trail ride?

If so, there is a trail boss accreditation weekend coming up on May 28 and 29 in Gunning and members of the Yass Valley - Hilltops Trail Riders Club will be attending.

Club member Lisa Colbran said they formed in July 2021. “A couple of us thought that a trail riding club would be a benefit to many equestrians,” Ms Colbran said.

“We held a meeting for people that had an interest and formed a committee. We now have a fantastic 42 members that are friendly and supportive.”

“COVID and rain being setbacks in 2021, we were finally able to commence in January 2022 with our maiden club ride in Binalong.”

“Since then we have held rides at Dalton, Frogmore and Boorowa. We will host rides anywhere within the Yass Valley and Hilltops regions.”

The club is affiliated with the Australian Trail Horse Riders Association (ATHRA) and riders can join via the ATHRA website - http://www.athra.com.au/.

They usually meet on the first Sunday of the month, but sometimes shuffle the date when it conflicts with long weekends.

Anybody interested in safe, fun riding is more than welcome to join the club by emailing yassvalley.hilltops@gmail.com or via the group’s Facebook page.
