There isn’t much that is free in today’s world so when the opportunity to entertain the kids and learn more about your community at no charge comes you should jump at it.
The Hilltops Community Hub has organised an incredible day of entertainment, information and refreshments for everyone at Carrington Park in Young on March 23 alongside LiveBetter Cowra.
The Hub’s Naomi Peters said the event was last held in 2019 and was successful.
“It creates linkages between families and services,” Ms Peters said. “We’re really trying to reach families.
“We’ve had a good response from community groups, but it’s not just about community services.”
This year, the event is tapping into groups of a more social nature as well; including activities such as dancing, creative arts, sport and music.
Health, education and preschool groups will be in attendance on the day, but so too will sporting reps and social clubs.
“Job Centre Australia is putting on the free barbecue and the Hilltops Youth Action Group will have iceys for everyone!” she said.
The one-day family expo will include the usual kid-friendly activities like face painting, giant snakes and ladders and connect 4 games and lucky door prizes.
There will even be a colouring competition.
Go to the fridge, or wherever you hang your calendar and mark the day right now - March 23 from 10am to 1pm.
Learn more about your community while getting out and enjoying the sunshine with your kids.
