Hilltops Youth Action Group Unveils Winter School Holiday Youth Program

School is almost out again for mid-year break and the Hilltops Youth Action Group has a 2024 Winter School Holiday Youth Program, promising a variety of entertaining activities for young residents.

Scheduled from Monday, July 8 to Friday, July 19, the program offers a diverse lineup of events designed to engage and inspire local youth.

**Events include: **

  • Young video gaming afternoon on Monday, July 8. Dive into the world of Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Wiii games in a relaxed, social setting.

Open to youth aged between 12 and 25 years.

  • Harden Community Fair - Tuesday, July 9. Join in the fun for a day of community spirit and enjoyment at the Harden Community Fair.

  • Canberra War Memorial Excursion - Wednesday, July 10. An educational journey to the Australian War Memorial, providing youth aged 12 to 18 years, with a unique opportunity to explore Australia’s military history throughout a guided tour.

  • Harden Paint by Numbers - Friday, July 12. Unleash your creativity with a guided paint-by-numbers session, perfect for budding artists aged 12 to 25.

  • Young Board Games Afternoon - Monday, July 15. Spend an afternoon in Young playing tabletop and board games. Open to youth aged 12 to 25 years.

  • Boorowa Video Gaming Afternoon - Friday, July 19. Another chance to enjoy video gaming with friends at Boorowa, tailored to youths aged between 12 and 25 years.

General Manager of Hilltops Council, Anthony O’Reilly said the events were more than just activities.

“They’re opportunities for our youth to connect, learn and have fun,” Mr O’Reilly said.

“We encourage all young residents to register and make the most of their winter school holidays.”

Youth interested in attending the Canberra War Memorial excursion are advised to submit an expression of interest promptly. Applications can be obtained via Council’s website. A bus service will depart and return from Boorowa, Harden and Young.

Spaces are limited, and confirmation details will follow.

The event will be free, but participants are asked to provide their own lunch/spending money.
