With the completion of the western side, or the reverse side, of the twin silos at Murrumburrah coupled with the magnificent Bill the Bastard statue nearby, Murrumburrah has a solid recognised presence that could make it the perfect tourist gateway to the Hilltops region.

CMO of Export Asia Group Pty Ltd, Greg Medway said opportunities for agritourism and tourism operators were evolving and switched-on work opportunities for young people, including event management, social media and promotions and hospitality would evolve as well.

“There needs to be a coordinated approach to move forward the visitor economy, including all the agri-groups, tourist operators and retailers working together to ensure the Hilltops region secures all the tourism benefits,” Mr Medway said.

Tourism Research Australia has predicted that domestic spending in tourism would reach $179 billion including $41.1 billion in domestic tourism day spending by 2027.

Securing recognition as a tourism/visitor destination could move millions of extra dollars into the Hilltops region.

Mr Medway said a real working Tourism Committee was needed with people involved who could visualise a big picture for the region.

If that is you, connect with Mr Medway by phone - 0487 028 657 - or by email at gregorymedway@gmail.com.

“Alone, we can’t do much,” Mr Medway said. “Together, we can win championships.”
