The General With Country At Heart and Delicious On The Menu

Isabel and Toyha are the hard working ladies of the Marsden St General. The business opened in 2020, with the idea of an actual pantry, with real and unique food made by small businesses.

Bringing speciality goods to Boorowa was a primary focus for the business, and at the Marsden St General, you will find speciality groceries, a coffee house, cafe items, dry goods, artisan goods and house baked treats. Finding the right premises was a must and the ladies chose Boorowa’s old iconic butcher shop on the main street as the perfect location.

“We wanted to create a space that you can take yourself to meander through the curated products, possibly find items to make staples in your pantry, pick up a treat or gift you wouldn’t ordinarily stumble across,” Toyha explains.

“We are proudly supporting Australian small businesses from regional NSW and afar. We have taken our time to gather products that we feel truly passionate about from people and businesses we truly admire.”

Both Isabel and Toyha profoundly believe producers are the cornerstone of regional Australia. Their mission is to truly embody this belief and celebrate the fine foods and tastes that the country and it’s people have to offer.

The ladies are both mothers, and have had the support of their husbands and families, to make this dream a success.
