KanZas Rose’s Family Gives Back With Fundraiser

Young Kanzas Rose Ward was just six to seven months old when she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.
Her mum, Lisa Ward had only good things to say about Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Community Care.
“We had a lot of help from CF Community Care,” Mrs Ward said.
“They helped us with supply of medications and everything we needed.”
Mrs Ward advised other parents and people with a new diagnosis of CF not to look to Google for answers. She said there was a lot of information out there, but a lot of it was scary and not at all accurate.
“We learned that when we connected with our team in Randwick,” she said. The Kanzas Rose Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser on September 9 is the Wards’ way of giving back to the community group that helped them so much when they first got their diagnosis.
“We are doing a car and bike ride starting at the Rusty Horse Hotel at Bribbaree at 9 o’clock,” Mrs Ward said.
People can register and pay their fees prior to the Mystery Ride which is around a 400km round trip, returning to Bribbarree for an evening of live entertainment.
Registration costs $15 per bike, per pillion and per car.
It is also the fee for gate entry for those that aren’t able to or don’t want to, take the trip but would like to enjoy the fun afterwards.
Concession cardholders and children can go along for free.
“We are hoping to raise as much money as we can,” Mrs Ward said. “We’d love to raise thousands, but this is our first fundraiser, so we’ll be happy with whatever we can raise.”
They are still looking for sponsors and have the following options:
- Gold - $500;
- Silver - $250; and
- Bronze - $100.
Of course, any sponsorship amount is welcome. They are also looking for donations to be used as prizes for a raffle.
Live entertainment on the night will be provided by Trudie Jayne, Tom Henderson, Open Range and Free Spirits.
The event has been registered with Cystic Fibrosis Community Care - NSW and you can stay updated about the event on their Facebook page. If you would like to sponsor the event or make a donation, you can contact Lisa Ward via the Facebook page or by calling 0478 777 226.
